Senior Associate

Grant Thornton Azerbaijan has experienced continued growth and presence within the regional market. We are now seeking to add to our team and are therefore seeking a Senior Associate to work within our Assurance department.

The Senior Associate will be expected to:

• Apply their knowledge to resolve routine issues and propose solutions to more complex ones
• Lead a small team on delivery of specific projects and assignments
• Delegate effectively to others, oversee outputs and ensure that quality is maintained
• Coach and support other team members in developing their understanding of the straightforward aspects of their discipline and delivering output
• Expand their internal and external network
• Be responsible to train and coach Associates
• Technically, be able to draft financials, control completion documents and identify high risk areas of audit as defined at planning stage
• Understand and utilise Grant Thornton’s Audit Methodology

Competencies:

• Knowledge and ability to use proficiently standard office software’s, including word-processing, databases and spreadsheets
• Well-developed organization and time management skills, and the ability to work on own initiative, accurately to tight deadlines, and to prioritize between conflicting demands
• Ability to coach and develop junior members of the team
• Strong communication and project management skills

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Two to five years of current and/or recent financial statement audit experience within a public accounting firm
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
• Licensed CPA/ICAP/ICAI/ICAEW/ACCA or actively pursuing the qualification
• Exposure to providing audit services to clients across a variety of industries
• Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Auditing Standards (IAS)
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Fluency in English and Azerbaijani.
